Friedrich Nietzsches typewriter. Malling Hansen.

This song is done,–the sweet sad cry of rue
Sang out its end;
A wizard wrought it, he the timely friend,
The midday-friend,–no, do not ask me who;
At midday ’twas, when one became as two.

Friedrich Nietzsche. From the heights.

This typewriter is as nearly famous as his owner. His friend Paul Reé brought in Februray 1882 this at this times very innovative typewriter to his wintering grounds in Genua. Nietzsche suffers on a seldom eye disease and was at this time nearly blind. With this new typewriter, he wrote free and without the necessity to hold his nose two centimeters above the written paper. This invention prepares the ground for some of the giant thoughts of Friedrich Nietzsche.
